Parametric Vessel
For this week’s generator, I decided to build a set of coupe glasses, since they are my girlfriend’s favorite type of glasses. In order to so so, I divided the glasses in two parts. Both halves were built out of 3 polygons, one forming the shaft, while the other half produced the actual cup.
All parameters where controlled by sliders, allowing to variate each polygon’s radius, segment, fillet, and position (on the z plane). One polygon remained floored, while the middle and the top polygon’s height was changed to produce variations in both the shaft and the glasses total height.
I tried rendering the glasses with different materials and colors but it didn’t turn out as expected -not to mention a lengthy process.
In the end, I decided to match all the materials and colors and even set a background in order to help my computer’s CPU rendering power, yet it still proved too much of a task. I will keep on working in order to master this last process for future iterations.
